In the 18th century, Europe was captivated by “Chinoiserie” gardens, and a love of Chinese plants began to bloom. As part of the programme of the exhibition “Blooming: The Art of Gardens in East and West”, the HKMoA has invited Associate Professor Wang Lianming to reveal a cross-cultural story of garden exchange between the Catholic Church in Beijing and European botanical gardens through a giant painting housed at the National Library of France.
*Enrolment is not required. The Hall will be open for admission 15 minutes before the talk commences. Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
